VIVIAN, LA – A woman is fighting for her life after being struck by a train in Vivian, Louisiana, on Sunday afternoon, August 3, 2025.
Just before noon, Caddo Parish deputies responded to an emergency near North Lillie Street where a man and woman had reportedly been walking along the railroad tracks.
According to Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr., the man managed to jump out of the way, but the woman was hit by the oncoming train.

Caddo Fire District 8 arrived on scene and quickly called in LifeAir, which airlifted the critically injured woman to LSU Health in Shreveport.
She remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The incident is still under investigation.
