Shreveport, LA – A woman pleaded guilty to arson on Monday, February 10, 2025, just as her trial was set to begin in Caddo District Court.

Tory Reed, 37, admitted to setting fire to the home of Sharon Johnson, the mother of her then-boyfriend, Jenealious Johnson. The incident occurred on the evening of November 13, 2022, at Johnson’s residence in the 5500 block of Ben Jai Drive.
The fire, which Reed initially intended to confine to the living room couch, quickly spread and engulfed the entire home, resulting in total destruction.
According to investigators with the Shreveport Fire Department, Reed confessed to intentionally starting the fire. No one was inside the residence at the time, and no injuries were reported. However, the damage exceeded $54,000.

Reed entered her plea before Caddo District Judge Ramona Emanuel. She is scheduled to return to court on February 24, 2025, for sentencing, where she faces up to 15 years in prison at hard labor and a fine of up to $15,000.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Fernando Grider and Senae D. Hall. Reed was represented by attorneys Royal Alexander and Dave Knadler. The case was filed under docket No. 392376.
