The Shreveport Fire Department (SFD) has announced the arrest of Sherri Ann Rule, 57, in connection with a house fire in the Highland neighborhood.
The fire occurred at 12:38 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at a residence in the 1600 block of Rex Avenue. Fire investigators determined the blaze was intentionally set and identified Rule as the suspect.
Rule was taken into custody on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on one count of violating Louisiana Revised Statute 14:52, Simple Arson.
The statute provides penalties of up to $15,000 in fines and 15 years of hard labor for damages exceeding $500. For damages under $500, penalties include up to $2,500 in fines and five years of imprisonment.
Rule’s bond has been set at $35,000.
