Shreveport, La. — A woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after allegedly refusing to comply with a court-ordered custody transfer of her child.

The incident occurred on September 3, 2025, just after 1:00 p.m., when Shreveport Police officers were called to a residence in the 9000 block of Cottage Ridge Drive regarding a family dispute.
According to authorities, the situation stemmed from a civil warrant issued by a judge granting custody of a 4-year-old child to the father. When officers arrived, they say the child’s mother, Victoria Paikowski, refused to comply with the order.
Detectives with the Youth Services Bureau and members of the Hostage Negotiation Team responded to the scene in an effort to resolve the matter peacefully. After repeated attempts to de-escalate failed, officers forced entry into the home. Police report that Paikowski continued resisting lawful commands before being taken into custody.
The child was safely recovered, and Paikowski was booked on a charge of Obstruction of Court Order. No serious injuries were reported.
