Caddo Parish, LA – A woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon following a multi-agency pursuit that left a Caddo Parish deputy and a Blanchard police officer injured, authorities confirmed.

The incident began around 2:54 PM when Blanchard Police responded to a shoplifting call at Elsie’s Truck Stop on Louisiana Highway 1.
Upon arrival, an officer spotted the suspect, later identified as Elease Williams, 46, entering a white SUV. When the officer attempted to stop her, Williams allegedly accelerated, dragging the officer and causing injuries.
Caddo Parish deputies later spotted the suspect’s vehicle traveling south on LA Hwy 1 and initiated a pursuit. The chase ended when Williams crashed into a deputy’s patrol unit at the intersection of LA Hwy 1 and Interstate 49.

Williams was taken into custody without further incident and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on multiple felony charges, including:
• Aggravated Second-Degree Battery
• Aggravated Flight from an Officer
• Aggravated Assault with a Motor Vehicle on a Police Officer
• Aggravated Obstruction of a Highway of Commerce
The Blanchard officer sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport. The Caddo deputy struck by the suspect’s vehicle was taken to Willis-Knighton North with non-life-threatening injuries.
