Shreveport residents have been buzzing with curiosity: what happened to Smitty’s Pizza on Mansfield Road? After nearly 50 years at its original location, the beloved pizza spot was forced to vacate the building, leaving loyal customers wondering about the future of the local favorite.

Fortunately, Smitty’s wasn’t ready to call it quits. The owners quickly announced plans to relocate, promising to continue serving the community that has supported them for decades. While some speculated that Smitty’s might move to a more central part of Shreveport, the owners revealed they would remain in South Shreveport, preserving their roots in the area.
In a Facebook update, Smitty’s confirmed their new address: 2525 Southside Drive—the site of a former Pizza Hut, located between Jewella Avenue and Mansfield Road. While the dining room in the new location will seat 25-30 fewer customers than the old space, the owners are optimistic that it won’t hinder their ability to keep the restaurant bustling.
“We will be staying in South Shreveport for a long time,” said the owner, reassuring patrons of their commitment to the community.
Preparations for a grand opening are already underway, with loyal fans eagerly awaiting the chance to enjoy their Smitty’s Pizza favorites once again. Stay tuned for updates on the official reopening date!
