Woman Sentenced to 35 Years for Embezzling $1.2M in Failed TikTok Influencer Bid
TEXAS — Staci Blackman, a former office manager for a high-end home building company, has pleaded guilty to embezzling $1.2 million from her former employer in a bid to become a TikTok influencer.

Investigators revealed that in 2019 Blackman used a company credit card belonging to a deceased senior partner, transferring $889,764 to a PayPal account linked to her TikTok handle, Staci1204.
She used a bank account with the deceased life savings in it to pay that credit card bill off. She used the funds to gift high-ranking influencers, hoping to build her own following, but the attempt failed.
Blackman’s scheme unraveled when she attempted to steal an additional $400,000 from the business. This triggered an investigation that exposed her years-long fraud.
She has been sentenced to 35 years in prison but intends to appeal the sentence.
