Shreveport, LA – Two men were arrested on January 18, 2025, after officers with the Shreveport Police Department responded to a burglary in progress at a residence on Gray Street.

At approximately 8:26 AM, officers were dispatched to 8950 Gray Street after the homeowner, observing from across the street, reported two unknown males inside his residence without permission.

Upon arrival, the homeowner informed officers that the front door was unlocked and granted them entry. He confirmed that he did not know the suspects and intended to press charges.

Inside the home, officers first located Stephen Mason, who was hiding in the bathroom behind a shower curtain while seated in the bathtub. Mason, wearing a red hoodie, complied with officers’ commands and was taken into custody without incident.

A second suspect, Nathan Carson, was found in the master bedroom, lying partially under the bed in a fetal position. Carson also complied with officers and was arrested at the scene.

Investigators determined that Mason and Carson had entered the residence through an unlocked back door. Mason admitted to unlawfully entering the home and has a history of burglary arrests dating back to 2012, with prior offenses in 2016, 2019, and 2021. He was charged with Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling.

Carson was also charged with Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and Possession of Burglary Tools. Authorities discovered that he had an active warrant for theft in Bossier Parish.

The Shreveport Police Department commended the homeowner for his quick thinking and the officers for their swift response, reaffirming their commitment to protecting residents and their property from criminal activity.
