SHREVEPORT, LA — Three men have been arrested in connection with a series of copper wire thefts from AT&T job sites in Caddo and Bossier Parishes, following a joint investigation by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) and the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office (BPSO).

Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. confirmed the arrests, stating that the suspects—two from Bossier Parish and one from Caddo Parish—are believed to have stolen and sold thousands of dollars’ worth of copper wire.
Jermaine Johns, 46, of Shreveport, was taken into custody on April 11 after CPSO Investigator Chris Morgan received a tip about individuals allegedly stealing copper wire. Working closely with BPSO investigators, search warrants were obtained and executed at the suspects’ residences in both parishes.

During the searches, authorities recovered remnants of AT&T copper wire and tools believed to have been used in the thefts. Johns was detained at his residence in the 1800 block of Anna Street in Shreveport and transported to the CPSO detective’s office.
After being read his Miranda rights, Johns admitted to selling the stolen wire for cash. The estimated value of the stolen copper exceeds $10,000.

Johns was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on one count of illegal possession of stolen things.
The other suspects—Fredrick Hicks, 66, and Jessie Winnfield, 54, both of Princeton, Louisiana—were arrested by BPSO investigators and face related charges.

The investigation remains ongoing.
