CADDO PARISH, La — On Monday, April 21, 2025 a high-speed pursuit in Caddo Parish ended with the arrest of three individuals, including a man wanted on multiple felony warrants.

According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, the incident began when Deputy Vaitkus, a K-9 handler, attempted to stop a four-door sedan near South Lakeshore Drive and I-220.
The driver refused to pull over, leading authorities on a pursuit westbound along I-20. The vehicle ultimately crashed near Exit 5.

The driver, identified as Jefferey Moran, fled on foot toward Greenwood Road. Deputy Vaitkus and Patrol Sergeant Sundquist gave chase. Moran reportedly jumped over two fences before entering the parking lot of Averitt Trucking, where he was apprehended without incident by Deputy Vaitkus and Greenwood Police Corporal Kelly.

Two passengers in the vehicle, Cadarius Southall and Taylon Brown, were also detained. Authorities say both were found in possession of narcotics.
A firearm was recovered from the vehicle, and Moran, who had been evading law enforcement for an extended period, was found to have multiple outstanding felony warrants issued by both the Caddo Parish and Shreveport Police Departments.

Moran is now facing numerous charges, including illegal possession of stolen property, aggravated flight from an officer, unauthorized entry into a place of business (two counts), possession of a firearm while in possession of controlled dangerous substances (CDS), public intimidation, manufacturing or distribution of Schedule I drugs, and several outstanding warrants.

Southall was charged with possession of Schedule II narcotics and was booked alongside Moran at the Caddo Correctional Center. Brown was issued a court summons for possession of Schedule II narcotics.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office commended the efforts of its Patrol Division, along with assistance from Greenwood Police, for the safe and effective resolution of the incident.
