SPRINGHILL, La. – A routine traffic stop for a non-functioning brake light led to the arrest of a Springhill man on multiple drug charges, according to Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker.

Deputies Michael Dickey and Sgt. Lance Chanler pulled over 39-year-old Larry Ray Allen Jr. on Tuesday. During the stop, Dickey detected a strong odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. When asking a passenger for identification, the deputy noticed a clear plastic bag containing a substance believed to be marijuana on the floorboard.
Upon retrieving the suspected marijuana, Dickey reportedly found additional illegal substances, including a bag containing suspected methamphetamines, a separate bag with several suspected Ecstasy pills, and a glass smoking pipe.
Allen was charged with possession of Schedule I CDS (Ecstasy), possession of Schedule II CDS (methamphetamines), simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two traffic violations.
He is currently being held at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center on a $5,000 bond.
