SHREVEPORT, La — On the evening of September 1, 2024 at approximately 9:30PM, Shreveport Police officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Spring Lake Circle in response to a shots fired call.
While en route, officers received additional information indicating that the shots were coming from the area of Babylon Street.
Upon arriving at the 900 block of Babylon Street, officers observed multiple individuals at the scene.
Officers made contact with three individuals: 23-year-old Malcolm Jacobs, 30-year-old Jared Williams, and 24-year-old Diaviyon Williams. A further investigation revealed that multiple firearms were present at the scene, including weapons that had been illegally modified to fire fully automatic.
Officers determined that both Jared and Diaviyon Williams were prior felons, making them prohibited from possessing firearms. Approximately 50 shell casings and several firearms were recovered from the scene.
As a result, the following arrests were made:
• Malcolm Jacobs: Arrested for possession of a machine gun.
• Jared Williams: Arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a machine gun.
• Diaviyon Williams: Arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a machine gun.
This case highlights the outstanding work of the Shreveport Police Patrol officers who responded swiftly and effectively.
