SHREVEPORT, La — Shreveport Police have arrested Paul Hagerty, 41, in connection with a purse-snatching incident that occurred in early July. Detectives from the Property Crimes Unit charged Hagerty with one count of purse snatching after identifying him as the suspect in the July 5, 2024, incident.
According to police reports, the 76-year-old victim was walking near Sam’s Town Casino when Hagerty allegedly forcefully grabbed her purse. The victim did not sustain any serious injuries during the encounter.
Hagerty came to the attention of detectives following his arrest on September 28, 2024, for an unrelated offense. He was taken into custody for bringing a firearm into a nightclub, a violation that resulted in charges of Possession of a Firearm While on the Premises of an Alcoholic Beverage Outlet. Further investigation connected him to the earlier purse snatching.
