SHREVEPORT, La — Kroger and Albertsons have disclosed the list of assets they plan to divest in an effort to ease antitrust concerns surrounding their proposed merger. Among these assets is the Albertsons store located at 105 E. Southfield in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The list reveals that nearly 600 stores across 18 states and Washington, D.C., along with six distribution centers and one plant, are set to be offloaded to C&S Wholesale Grocers. This national wholesale grocery supply company, headquartered in Keene, New Hampshire, is known for its subsidiary, Piggly Wiggly.

The announcement comes just six weeks before a critical court hearing on the merger, raising the possibility that Shreveport’s last Albertsons could soon become a Piggly Wiggly.
