SHREVEPORT, La. – A Shreveport woman will spend nearly four decades behind bars after being sentenced on multiple felony gun charges stemming from a 2023 shooting.

Keatre Monique Daniels, 32, was sentenced Tuesday, March 18, 2025, by District Judge Chris Victory to a total of 37 years in prison. Her sentencing includes 20 years without the possibility of parole for being a felon in possession of a firearm, two years at hard labor for illegal use of a weapon, and 15 years at hard labor for aggravated second-degree battery. The sentences will run consecutively.
Daniels was convicted on January 14, 2025, after a jury found her guilty of shooting Paul George on June 27, 2023. The incident occurred in the 200 block of East Egan Street when Daniels accused George of scratching her car—an accusation he denied.

The confrontation escalated when Daniels retrieved a firearm and shot George twice in the legs.
Assistant District Attorneys Courtney N. Ray and Chase E. Burgess prosecuted the case, while Daniels was represented by defense attorney Rickey Swift.
The case was filed under docket No. 398529.
