Shreveport, La — A tragic two-vehicle collision in south Shreveport early Saturday morning, January 11, 2025, claimed the life of a local woman.
The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 30-year-old Astrid Joelle Brown.
The fatal crash occurred around 7:47 a.m. in the 9700 block of Mansfield Road (LA Highway 171), near the intersection with New Moon Drive.
According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, a dark-colored SUV driven by Ms. Brown pulled out from New Moon Drive into the path of a southbound dark-colored pickup truck. The vehicles collided, resulting in Ms. Brown’s death at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Ochsner LSU Health by the Shreveport Fire Department for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office to determine the cause of the incident.
