SHREVEPORT, LA — A Shreveport woman with a history of criminal convictions has been found guilty of multiple firearm and felony charges in Caddo District Court.
Keatre Monique Daniels, 32, was convicted on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal use of a weapon, and aggravated second-degree battery. The six-man, six-woman jury reached its unanimous verdict in just under 90 minutes in District Judge Chris Victory’s courtroom.

The charges stemmed from a June 27, 2023, incident in which Daniels approached Paul George outside a residence in the 200 block of East Egan Street. Daniels accused George of scratching her car, which he denied. After a brief argument, Daniels retrieved a firearm and shot George twice in the legs. The shooting was witnessed by a neighbor across the street.
The jury heard testimony from George, the eyewitness, Shreveport Police officers, and a fingerprint expert. Daniels was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Courtney N. Ray and Chase E. Burgess, while Rickey Swift served as her defense attorney.

Daniels, who has prior felony convictions for simple kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, faces significant prison time when sentenced on March 18, 2025.
She could receive five to 20 years at hard labor without parole, probation, or suspension of sentence for the firearm possession charge, up to two years for illegal use of a weapon, and up to 15 years for aggravated second-degree battery.
The case was docketed as No. 398529.
