Shreveport, LA – A concerned resident contacted 911 on Sunday, February 16, 2025, after a drone reportedly dropped packaged oatmeal pies to children in the Sunset and Jewella area.
According to the caller, the drone delivered two oatmeal pies wrapped in duct tape with a black zip tie attached. The resident, a mother, immediately instructed her daughter not to eat the food after realizing her nephew had already consumed one.
“I don’t know if this is a joke or something more serious, but it’s strange,” the woman stated. “If your kids are outside in this area, don’t let them eat anything like this.”
Shreveport Police responded to the call, though it remains unclear who was operating the drone or what the intent behind the food drops was. Authorities have not confirmed whether the incident posed a safety threat but urge parents to remain vigilant.
An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
