Shreveport, LA — The Shreveport Police Department and Shreveport Fire Department responded to a shooting Saturday evening around 6:53 p.m. at the McDonald’s located at the intersection of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop and Linwood Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers located at least one individual suffering from a gunshot wound in the restaurant’s parking lot. Emergency medical crews provided immediate treatment on scene before transporting the victim to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport for further care. The victim’s condition has not been released at this time.
Police quickly secured the area, blocking off the entire parking lot as investigators began processing the scene. Multiple evidence markers could be seen near the restaurant entrance and throughout the parking area as officers worked to determine what led up to the shooting.
Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit have taken over the investigation. Early reports indicate the shooting occurred outside near parked vehicles, but investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to identify the shooter and determine a motive.
