SHREVEPORT, LA – On August 2, 2025, Shreveport Police Sergeant Roland Garner was arrested by fellow officers on one count of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).
According to officials, Sgt. Garner was contacted while operating a vehicle and suspected of being impaired. Following standard procedure, he was taken into custody and transported to the Caddo Correctional Center. He has since bonded out.
In line with departmental policy, Sgt. Garner has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of an internal investigation. Garner has served with the Shreveport Police Department since 2005.
The department emphasized that this incident does not reflect its values or professionalism, reaffirming its commitment to accountability and transparency in all matters involving personnel.
