SHREVEPORT, LA – The Shreveport Police Department is urging the public to comply with lawful traffic stops after a series of recent pursuits resulted in multiple arrests and felony charges.

On May 30, Romeil Small was taken into custody after fleeing from officers, causing damage to private property during the chase. He now faces charges including Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Aggravated Criminal Property Damage, and Resisting an Officer.

Two more incidents occurred on June 1. James Wheatley fled from a traffic stop and led police on a pursuit before being arrested. He is charged with Flight from an Officer, Hit and Run, Reckless Operation, and Second-Offense DWI.

Later that same day, Jacoby Lee was arrested after attempting to evade a traffic stop. He is charged with Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Reckless Operation, and No Insurance.

“These types of actions are not only illegal but extremely dangerous,” SPD said in a statement. “We will not tolerate reckless behavior that puts lives at risk.”
Authorities emphasize that fleeing from law enforcement can quickly escalate a minor infraction into a serious felony. The department continues to urge drivers to comply with all lawful orders to avoid unnecessary danger and criminal charges.
