Shreveport, LA – The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of Shreveport’s first homicide of 2025 as 47-year-old Malchus Prillerman.
Prillerman was fatally shot around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, in the 2700 block of Jones Mabry Road, near its intersection with Hawkins Street in the Martin Luther King Jr. neighborhood. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:40 p.m.
The coroner’s office confirmed Prillerman’s identity through fingerprint comparison. An autopsy has been ordered.

The Shreveport Police Department is leading the investigation. Authorities have not released further details about potential suspects or a motive.
