SHREVEPORT, La. – Two individuals were arrested following a narcotics and firearms operation conducted by the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) on March 5, 2025.

Officers executed a search warrant at an apartment complex in the 4300 block of Illinois Street, targeting suspected illegal activity in response to community concerns.
The SPD Street Level Interdiction Team, with support from the department’s specialized Jump Out Boys unit, carried out the operation.

Investigators had received multiple reports of drug-related activity at the location, prompting the coordinated law enforcement effort.
During the search, officers uncovered illegal drugs and firearms, leading to the arrests of Monica Shivers and Cordarius Martinez.

Both suspects were charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and illegal possession of firearms. The exact quantities of drugs and the types of firearms seized have not yet been disclosed by authorities.

Shivers and Martinez were transported to the Shreveport City Jail, where they remain in custody pending further legal proceedings. It is unclear whether either suspect has retained legal representation at this time.
SPD officials emphasized their commitment to combating street-level crime and ensuring community safety. “This operation reflects our ongoing efforts to remove illegal drugs and weapons from our neighborhoods,” a department spokesperson stated. “We encourage residents to continue reporting suspicious activity.”

Authorities urge anyone with additional information related to this case or other criminal activity to contact the Shreveport Police Department at (318) 673-7300.
