Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) responded to a shooting in the 400 block of Choctaw Trail on the evening of February 7, 2025.
Officers arrived at approximately 7:43 p.m. and discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his right wrist.
According to the victim, the shooting stemmed from a verbal dispute with his cousin, identified as Cartravious Shepard, which escalated into a physical altercation. Witnesses at the scene reported that Shepard fled the area on foot following the incident.
Emergency medical personnel provided treatment to the victim, while officers gathered statements from witnesses. Shortly after, family members returned with Shepard, who was taken into custody without incident.
Shepard is facing charges of Aggravated Battery and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property. He will be booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
