Shreveport, La — On March 19, 2025, Shreveport Police Sex Crimes Detectives launched an investigation into a reported second-degree rape in the 2100 block of Grimmett Drive.
The 14-year-old juvenile victim reported being assaulted by her mother’s boyfriend, identified as Derrick L. Boyd (DOB 05/24/1981).
During the investigation, detectives conducted multiple interviews and discovered that Boyd is a convicted sex offender out of Bossier City.
On March 21, 2025, detectives obtained a warrant charging Boyd with one count of Second-Degree Rape and one count of Sexual Battery.
Boyd has since been arrested and is currently in custody.
