SHREVEPORT, La. – The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) has arrested 15-year-old LeJayden Bell on multiple charges, including two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

On the evening of Thursday, February 6, 2025, Violent Crimes detectives were contacted by Bell’s family, who expressed their intention to turn him in to law enforcement.
Detectives met with the family at the SPD office, initially believing they were cooperating and allowing Bell to provide a statement. However, during the interview, the family refused to cooperate, leading authorities to terminate the discussion.
Bell was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the City Jail for felony processing before being booked into the Juvenile Detention Center. He faces the following charges:
• Two counts of Attempted Second-Degree Murder (14:27, 14:30.1)
• One count of Simple Battery (14:35)
• One count of Juvenile in Possession of a Firearm (14:95.8)
The SPD acknowledged the role of local media in the case, stating that the public release of Bell’s image contributed to his apprehension. According to authorities, Bell’s family decided to surrender him only after his photo was made public.
“The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to removing dangerous individuals from our communities,” the department said in a statement. “We appreciate the support of the media and the public in keeping Shreveport safe.”
Authorities continue to investigate the case.
