Shreveport, LA – Terrance Dangerfield, 27, has been sentenced to two life terms in prison following his conviction for two counts of manslaughter, as well as multiple drug and firearms offenses.

The ruling, handed down by District Judge Donald E. Hathaway Jr. in Caddo District Court on January 23, 2025, comes two years after a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the lives of Faith Alexander, 31, and her 4-year-old daughter.
The deadly incident occurred on January 10, 2023, when Dangerfield, attempting to evade a traffic stop, sped through a red light at Walker Road and T-boned Alexander’s vehicle at high speed. He then fled the scene on foot, leaving behind a car containing approximately two pounds of marijuana and two firearms.
Following his conviction, the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office filed a Habitual Offender Bill, leading Judge Hathaway to classify Dangerfield as a fourth-time felony offender for the manslaughter charges and a third-time offender for the firearms violations. Under enhanced sentencing laws, Dangerfield received two life sentences for the manslaughter convictions. He also received a 40-year sentence for possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance (second offense) and a 30-year sentence for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. All sentences will be served consecutively.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Christopher Bowman and Kodie Smith, while Greg Johnson served as Dangerfield’s defense attorney.
This sentencing marks a significant victory for prosecutors in cracking down on repeat violent offenders in the region.
