Shreveport, La — A Shreveport man has been found guilty of aggravated second-degree battery after violently attacking a woman with a handgun in August 2024.

On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, a Caddo Parish jury convicted 30-year-old Shaquille Bradford for the brutal assault that occurred on Acorn Street. The jury—made up of seven women and five men—deliberated for three hours before delivering the verdict in the courtroom of Judge Chris Victory.
During the trial, prosecutors revealed that Bradford used a Glock handgun to pistol-whip a female acquaintance, striking her in the head and face. The woman sustained a deep laceration behind her ear and now suffers from seizures linked to the trauma.
Testimony from responding Shreveport police officers confirmed they saw Bradford holding the gun before he fled the scene. He was arrested shortly after, though he had attempted to discard the firearm, which was later recovered.
Bradford faces up to 15 years in prison when he returns for sentencing on June 18, 2025. However, that sentence could be significantly increased if he is determined to be a habitual offender.
Assistant District Attorneys Courtney N. Ray and Briana C. Spivey prosecuted the case. Bradford was represented by defense attorneys Silver Sanders and Katie Miller. The case was filed under docket number 403631.
