Shreveport, La — A Shreveport man was convicted of felony DWI in Caddo District Court on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
Robert Earl Williams Jr., 38, was found guilty of fourth-offense DWI by a jury consisting of two men and four women in District Judge Michael Pitman’s court. The jury deliberated for just seven minutes before delivering its unanimous verdict.

The charges stemmed from an incident on April 19, 2024, when Shreveport police discovered Williams in a parked vehicle with the engine running at Sunset Acres Park after hours. Officers noted a strong odor of alcohol on Williams’ breath and observed his glossy, bloodshot eyes. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and registered a blood alcohol concentration of .241 on a breathalyzer—more than three times the legal limit.
Williams has three prior DWI convictions from 2016, 2020, and 2023.
He is scheduled to return to court for sentencing on February 18, 2025. Under Louisiana law, Williams faces a sentence of 10 to 30 years in prison, with or without hard labor, and a fine of up to $5,000.
Assistant District Attorneys Briana Spivey and Victoria Washington prosecuted the case, while Williams was represented by attorneys Michael Enright and Silver Sanders.
The case was filed under docket number 401493.
