Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) is investigating the city’s fourth homicide of the year after a food delivery driver was fatally shot early Thursday morning.

At approximately 2:39 AM on February 13, SPD patrol officers and Shreveport Fire Department (SFD) medics responded to a reported vehicle crash at East Bert Kouns and East Kings Highway.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered that the driver of one of the vehicles had suffered at least one gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport in critical condition but later succumbed to their injuries.

Moments later, SPD officers located a second shooting victim—a male suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds—at the intersection of Youree Drive and Southfield Road. He was transported to Ochsner for treatment.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the deadly shooting occurred near East Kings Highway and 70th Street when another vehicle opened fire on the victims’ car. The passenger fled the scene on foot before stopping at Youree Drive and Southfield Road. Authorities have confirmed that the deceased driver was a food delivery worker.
SPD detectives are actively investigating the incident and urge anyone with information to contact Shreveport Police at 318-673-7300 or Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
