Shreveport, LA — The Shreveport City Administrative Meeting was held Monday, January 27, 2025, at Government Plaza in downtown Shreveport, where city officials discussed various community concerns, including issues affecting the Hispanic population.
During the meeting, a constituent from City Council Chair Tabatha Taylor’s district spoke about their experiences working with the Hispanic community since providing translation services to non-English-speaking residents.
In response to concerns about the city’s stance on deportation and the overall safety of Hispanic residents, Mayor Tom Arceneaux reaffirmed the city’s commitment to inclusivity and protection for all citizens.
When questioned by City Council Chair Taylor, Mayor Arceneaux stated:
“The city intends to protect all of its citizens, and that includes those of Hispanic heritage.”

The discussion comes amid growing conversations about immigrant rights and public safety in Shreveport, with city leaders emphasizing the importance of community engagement and equitable access to services for all residents.
