Shreveport, La — Shreveport police have arrested a repeat offender accused of multiple package thefts across the city.
Danny Levy was taken into custody after an off-duty officer recognized him and alerted on-duty personnel, leading to his swift arrest.
According to investigators, Levy had been using public transportation to move between neighborhoods, stealing packages from residents’ porches. Community members played a key role in his apprehension by sharing images of the suspect, which helped officers identify and track him down.
Levy, who has multiple prior theft convictions, now faces four counts of felony theft. Authorities believe there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with security footage of Levy stealing packages to contact the Shreveport Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit at (318) 673-7300.
Officials credit the arrest to social media awareness and active neighborhood involvement. Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity directly to law enforcement rather than just sharing it online.
