DOYLINE, LA — A second arrest has been made in connection with a disturbing alleged unlicensed puppy mill operation in Webster Parish, where nearly 60 dogs were found crated and penned in deplorable conditions.

Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker confirmed that 68-year-old Alan D. Crowley was taken into custody Thursday evening, joining his wife, Kimberly, who was previously arrested. Crowley is currently being held at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center with no bond set.

The investigation began after nearly two dozen dogs were abandoned on Dement Road last Sunday.
Evidence led deputies to the Crowleys’ residence in the 300 block of Stable Dr. in Doyline, where authorities uncovered shocking conditions.

Deputies discovered dozens of dogs of various breeds, ages, and sizes confined in filthy crates and pens, both inside the home and in a large barn.
Many animals lacked food and water, trapped in an environment filled with feces and urine. Further searches uncovered the remains of multiple dead animals, including dogs, a horse, and goats.

“I’ve never seen anything like this. It is disgusting,” said WPSO Major Robert Hayden, who led the investigation.
A massive rescue effort is now underway. Volunteers from LaMa Animal Rescue, assisted by Webster Parish deputies and animal control, began removing and documenting the dogs early Friday morning.
The animals will be taken to a veterinarian for evaluation and potential adoption.

This developing case continues to unfold as authorities work to ensure justice for the neglected animals.
