SHREVEPORT, La — On Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 6:23pm the Shreveport Police Department was notified by Ochsner LSU Hospital that a gunshot victim had arrived by private vehicle to the emergency room entrance.
Officers were already working a report of multiple shots fired on W. 74th near Wallace Avenue that came into the dispatch at around 6:16pm.
Upon arrival to the hospital, SPD Officers discovered that a male had been shot in the left leg and upper body. The male victim was transported by private vehicle to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Through early investigation officers located a crime scene at the intersection of W. 74th and Union where a home was struck by bullets as well.
Witnesses stated that an unknown vehicle drove by and opened fire on the man who was standing in front of a home on W. 74th Street.
