SHREVEPORT, La. — A relaxing afternoon turned tragic at the Shreveport Elks Lodge after a man was found unresponsive in the swimming pool on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
According to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office, the victim has been identified as 61-year-old Michael McMillon of Bossier City. Authorities say McMillon had been in the pool with family members at the lodge, located in the 300 block of East Preston Avenue, just before 1:30 p.m. when the incident occurred.
Emergency medical responders transported McMillon to WK Pierremont Health Center, where he was later pronounced deceased at 2:24 p.m.
An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause and manner of death, which remain pending pending toxicology results.
The investigation is ongoing.
