Shreveport, LA – A vehicle pursuit late Wednesday night led to the arrest of a man driving a stolen car, according to the Shreveport Police Department.
On January 3, 2025, at approximately 11:19 PM, Shreveport Police officers observed a red Kia Soul leaving the Circle K gas station without its headlights activated.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop using emergency lights and sirens, but the driver refused to comply and sped away, initiating a pursuit.
The suspect drove eastbound on Jordan Street and then turned north on Louisiana Avenue, where he ran a red light at the intersection of Louisiana Avenue and Stoner Avenue.
The chase continued onto Springhill Street, where the driver lost control and struck a concrete curb, damaging the vehicle’s front driver’s side axle. Despite the damage, the vehicle continued eastward, disregarding a stop sign at McNeil Street and Springhill Street.
The pursuit ended when the Kia veered off the roadway and collided with a dirt berm, causing severe front-end damage. The driver, later identified as 32-year-old Gerald Bruce Green, fled the scene on foot. Officers pursued Green across a field and into a wooded area, where he was subdued with a taser and taken into custody.

An investigation revealed that the Kia Soul had been reported stolen in Shreveport. Green now faces multiple charges, including:
• Aggravated flight from an officer (felony): $25,000 bond
• Driving without required lights: $1,000 bond
• Hit and run driving: $25,000 bond
• Resisting an officer: $1,000 bond
• Illegal possession of stolen property: $10,000 bond
• Driving under suspension: $1,000 bond
Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported during the incident.
The Shreveport Police Department issued a statement reminding the public of the dangers of fleeing from law enforcement. “Fleeing from police is a felony offense that endangers everyone involved, including suspects, officers, and the public. SPD remains dedicated to ensuring community safety and holding offenders accountable.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
