SHREVEPORT, La — On Sunday, July 28, 2024, around 8 p.m., Shreveport police responded to an incident involving an armed individual in the 5300 block of Virginia Avenue. Upon arrival, officers encountered a large altercation between two groups.
After breaking up the fight, officers determined that 49-year-old Adrian Moore had been involved in a dispute during which he produced a firearm and began firing at a family member. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the incident.
The Shreveport Fire Department was also dispatched to the scene to treat multiple individuals who had been maced during the altercation.
SPD patrol officers quickly secured the area and took Moore into custody. He has been charged with one count of aggravated assault with a firearm.
Authorities are grateful that the situation did not result in more severe injuries and are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the altercation and the subsequent gunfire.
