Shreveport, La — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced that the planned closure of LA 523 (Line Avenue) at the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing near LA 3132 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish has been rescheduled.
Originally set for January 11, 2025, the closure will now take place on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
The closure is expected to last from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is necessary for Union Pacific crews to perform maintenance on the railroad crossing.
The affected crossing is located just north of the intersection with Ashley Ridge Blvd.
Traffic Advisory:
• Road Closure: LA 523 will be completely closed at the railroad crossing.
• Detour: Alternate routes will be provided with detour signage in place.
• Weather Conditions: The work is weather permitting, and any further changes will be announced as necessary.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead, expect delays, and use alternate routes during this time.
