Keithville, LA – On Monday, August 26, 2024 at 7:46am the Keithville Elementary/Middle School was placed on lockdown following a report of an active shooter on campus.
Law enforcement officers, heavily armed, were seen rushing into the school as a swift response to the emergency call.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) confirmed that fourteen (14) of its units are on the scene, with two additional units from Caddo Fire District 6 staged nearby.
The quick deployment highlighted the seriousness of the situation as authorities worked to ensure the safety of students and staff.
As of now, no threat has been located within the school, and officials believe the report was unfounded.
The incident has caused significant concern in the community, but it appears that everyone at the school is safe.
