In a coordinated operation involving the Shreveport Police Department (SPD), K-9 Karo, and the Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC), five juvenile suspects were arrested after a stolen vehicle pursuit ended with swift apprehensions and the recovery of two vehicles.

The incident unfolded at approximately 1:27 PM on January 10, 2025 when officers responded to a report of a stolen silver Kia Rio being tracked by its owner near the intersection of Haynes and Bermuda. The owner also reported a burgundy Kia sedan traveling alongside the stolen car, both occupied by young male individuals.
Officers quickly intercepted the vehicles as they exited Stone Vista Apartments on E. Stoner Avenue. Upon police arrival, five individuals fled on foot into the complex, sparking a coordinated pursuit. Two suspects were immediately apprehended, while both vehicles were recovered at the scene.

K-9 Karo played a pivotal role in tracking a 16-year-old suspect, identified as the driver of the stolen Kia Rio. The juvenile was discovered hiding in a shed between Easy Street and Martha Avenue. Following a minor injury sustained during apprehension, the suspect received on-site medical attention from Shreveport Fire Department medics before being taken into custody.
Meanwhile, the RTCC provided crucial support by analyzing surveillance footage, confirming that the remaining suspects had entered Building 22 within the apartment complex and had not left. Officers subsequently detained two suspects matching the descriptions provided and located two additional individuals hiding in a bedroom.

In total, seven individuals were initially detained, with five juveniles ultimately arrested and charged. Each faces the following counts:
• 1 count of Illegal Possession of Stolen Things (IPST)
• 1 count of Resisting an Officer
This operation underscores the effectiveness of SPD’s collaborative efforts, leveraging technology and skilled personnel.

The combined work of K-9 Karo, the RTCC, and patrol officers not only secured the recovery of stolen vehicles but also ensured the safe resolution of a potentially volatile situation.
