BOSSIER CITY, La — Bossier City, Louisiana residents may soon have the opportunity to purchase hard alcohol on Sundays, something that has always been illegal in the city.
The Bossier City Council recently gathered on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 to address several agenda items, one of which was an important ordinance that would grant liquor stores and other businesses the ability to sell high-percentage alcohol on Sundays.
Should this ordinance be approved, it would not only permit the sale of beer and wine but also all types of alcohol during specific hours on Sundays.
The introduction of this bill was spearheaded by Bossier City Councilman Brian Hammons, who firmly believes that it will greatly benefit Bossier City’s economy.
Hammons explained, “After reviewing the sales data provided to us, we predict that we are currently missing out on roughly $350,000 in tax revenue each year.”
With the potential passing of this ordinance, Bossier City will have the chance to boost its financial resources and provide residents with more convenience and options for their Sunday shopping endeavors.
