SHREVEPORT, LA – After an 18-month retail crime spree, Shreveport Police have arrested a prolific shoplifter known as the “Fire Exit Lady,” bringing an end to a string of thefts that cost Target thousands.

On February 10, 2025, Shreveport Police Property Crimes Detectives, working with Patrol officers, apprehended Catreece Madison, a suspect infamous for repeatedly fleeing through the fire exit after stealing from the Youree Drive Target.
When officers arrived at the store that evening, Madison attempted to escape on foot, prompting a chase through the store and parking lot. She was ultimately subdued and taken into custody after being tased.
Investigators had been tracking the elusive thief for over a year but were unable to identify her until now. Madison was linked to at least 21 separate thefts from the store, dating back to September 7, 2023, with an estimated $10,000 in stolen merchandise.
Following her arrest, Madison was charged with one count of Felony Theft (14:67B(3)) for three thefts committed on February 2, 6, and 10, totaling $1,530. However, due to her status as a habitual offender, detectives added 18 additional Felony Theft charges—one for each theft committed between September 7, 2023, and January 26, 2025.
Madison’s criminal record shows four prior theft convictions, three of which predate her first known Target theft. Her most recent conviction was on October 27, 2023.
Shreveport Police continue to crack down on repeat offenders targeting local businesses. Authorities urge anyone with further information on this case to contact Shreveport Police at (318) 673-7300 or Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373.
