Discount retailer Dirt Cheap has officially filed for bankruptcy and is preparing to shut down all of its more than 60 locations across eight southern states. With stores spread throughout Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee, the company is set to cease operations entirely by the close of 2024.
The company, which has long been a popular destination for bargain hunters, has scheduled a final court hearing for November 7, 2024. Following the outcome of that hearing, the closure process will be finalized, and all remaining stores are expected to shut their doors permanently before the year ends.

One of the affected locations includes the store at 3045 E. Texas Street in Bossier, Louisiana. This marks the end of an era for the discount chain, known for offering steeply discounted goods to shoppers in the region for many years.
