A Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) deputy was arrested Tuesday afternoon for allegedly smuggling contraband into a penal institution and committing malfeasance in office.
The arrest took place on October 22, 2024, at 4:17 p.m., when Deputy Kevina Maxie was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center (CCC) in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Maxie, who was recently sworn in as a deputy by Caddo Sheriff Jay Long on April 11, 2024, now faces serious charges. She is accused of bringing prohibited items into the correctional facility, a violation of her sworn duties as a law enforcement officer.

The charges against Maxie include one count of taking contraband to or from a penal institute, with bond set at $5,000, and one count of malfeasance in office, with bond set at $20,000.
Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. stated that, following an ongoing investigation, it was determined that Kevina Maxie was caught bringing drug paraphernalia into the detention center and selling it to the inmates.

Maxie was arrested at the Caddo Correctional Facility while working overtime on her day off.
