Caddo Parish, LA — The Caddo Parish Commission, in partnership with the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, will hold a parishwide food distribution event on Saturday, November 22, to support families facing food insecurity across the region. The drive-thru event will take place at multiple locations, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
Event Overview
Commissioners say the food distribution aims to help local residents struggling with access to groceries amid rising food prices, ongoing federal furloughs, and recent challenges related to SNAP benefits. Participants will receive one food box per family, per vehicle, while supplies last.
Commissioner Stormy Gage-Watts said the initiative reflects the Parish’s commitment to addressing local hunger needs.
“We know that many families in our community are struggling right now, especially with challenges accessing SNAP benefits, the impact of federal furloughs, and the rising costs of food,” Gage-Watts said. “Providing distribution opportunities, such as the Commission’s event, is a way to offer immediate relief and ensure that no one in our parish has to face food insecurity alone.”
