New Orleans — Millions of viewers tuned in to watch Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance at Sunday’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, making it the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show in history.
Among the performers on stage at the Superdome was a familiar face for C.E. Byrd High School—Alekzander Gerard, a 2008 graduate.

Gerard, dressed in white during the performance, was known for his passion for singing and dancing even during his high school years.
“I remember he loved singing and dancing,” recalled classmate Calvin Hamilton.
Former teacher Ms. Springer also remembered Gerard as a dedicated student who participated in Byrd’s drama productions, including a role in Cinderella.
Sunday’s performance marked Gerard’s third Super Bowl halftime show appearance, solidifying his experience on one of the world’s biggest stages.
“To say we are proud here at 3201 Line Ave. is an understatement!” Byrd High School shared in a statement.
