SHREVEPORT, La — On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, a family dispute turned violent when a brother shot his sibling during an argument.
The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) responded to a report from Ochsner LSU Hospital at 3:05pm, where a gunshot victim had arrived by private vehicle. Multiple SPD units quickly mobilized to gather information about the incident’s location.
Upon investigation, officers identified that the scene of the shooting had occurred in the 100 block of Hamilton Street, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Evidence, including blood, was found at the location, prompting a thorough investigation.
According to witness statements, an alleged altercation between the two brothers escalated rapidly, resulting in one brother producing a firearm and shooting the other. The suspect then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
The victim’s condition has not been disclosed, and authorities are currently searching for the suspect. The investigation is ongoing as police continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
