Bossier Parish, La — On Tuesday, January 28, 2025 the BPSB made the following announcement.
The Bossier Parish School Board is aware of concerns circulating among our families regarding reports of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents potentially appearing at schools. We want to take this opportunity to address these concerns directly.
Bossier Schools remains committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students. Every child has the right to receive an education free from fear, and we are dedicated to upholding their dignity, safety, and confidentiality.
Federal law strictly regulates the release of student information, including education records and immigration status. Bossier Schools will adhere to these legal guidelines and follow all applicable federal and state laws, as well as district policies, regarding who is permitted to contact students during the school day. Schools are intended to be safe spaces for children, and we will follow all established safety protocols to ensure their well-being.
We encourage open communication between our schools and families and urge parents to reach out to their child’s principal with any questions or concerns. Bossier Schools remains steadfast in its mission to educate every student enrolled in the district, and we believe that a stable learning environment is essential to student success.
Together, we will continue working to provide a secure and supportive educational experience for all students in Bossier Parish.
