BOSSIER CITY, LA – The Bossier City Police Department has released its comparative crime statistics for 2024, showing a decline in nearly all major crime categories compared to the previous year.
Mayor Tommy Chandler and Police Chief Daniel Haugen expressed optimism over the reductions, attributing the positive trend to effective policing strategies and increased community involvement.
According to the report, crimes such as homicide, rape, armed robbery, burglary, theft, and auto theft all saw declines ranging from 6% to 26%.
However, aggravated assaults increased by 10%, making it the only category to show a rise in reported incidents.
“Public safety remains my number one priority, and I’m pleased to see a marked decrease in crime in Bossier City,” said Mayor Chandler.
Chief Haugen echoed the sentiment, stating that while the numbers are encouraging, the department remains committed to further reducing crime. “We will continue working every day to keep crime as low as possible and strive toward making Bossier City the safest city in the state,” Haugen said.
