ALEXANDRIA, LA – A local man was arrested earlier this month after an investigation by the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit led to the discovery of a significant quantity of methamphetamine and marijuana in his motel room.

According to authorities, RADE agents received anonymous complaints in early January 2025 alleging that Russell Paul Marceaux, 46, was selling methamphetamine from his room at a motel on MacArthur Drive.
Investigators confirmed Marceaux was residing at the location and, after gathering sufficient evidence, obtained a search warrant for his room.
On January 9, 2025, agents executed the warrant and recovered over a quarter-pound of methamphetamine, approximately half an ounce of marijuana, and various items commonly associated with drug distribution.

Marceaux was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on multiple drug-related charges, including possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was released on January 11 after posting a $12,500 bond.
